April Scavenger Hunt – Farm

This is Astrid’s first month taking over the scavenger hunt an to start us off this week the topic is farm.

I do love a trip to the area that is actually surrounding our caravan as although it is not actually that far away (an hours drive away at the most) it is surrounded by farms and nature reserves which is so different from our actually home which is a city suburb. Below are some of the photographs of the surrounding farms.

Friday photo hunt – sunset/sunrise

As we continue with Kates Friday photo hunt Kate is giving was two words and asking us to post photographs for either one or both of the words. This weeks words are sunset and sunrise. Looking back through my photographs it has made me realise that I seem to prefer the sunrise to the sunset.

Friday photo hunt – Signs of spring/autumn

As we continue with Kates Friday photo hunt Kate is giving was two words and asking us to post photographs for either one or both of the words. This weeks words are signs of spring or signs of autumn.

Favourite signs of spring

This first photograph was taken on a recent lockdown walk in the park with Mr H and Charlie dog.

I love to see the snowdrops in the park as I always think that they are the first signs of the end of winter and start of spring.

Some of my other favourite signs that spring is definitely on its way thanks to Mother nature. The crocus flowers just starting to show ready to burst into bloom and the daffodils bright and yellow make it feel so cheery.

Favourite signs of Autumn

The falling leaves starting to appear on the ground showing us that Autumn is on its way.

Then as we continue through autumn the bare branches that we once full of colour and life.

January scavenger hunt – Last words for January

Kate has continued in January to do the same as she did in December with a different theme/word each week and this weeks being the last week in January it is your own choice.

This month with all that is going on and working in a school trying to find a balance between working from home, going in to work when required and trying to relax things have been a little stressful. So I couldn’t think of a better picture to end this month than this little furry companion that has kept me company while at home. I can’t always say that he has been good, from trying to sit on my knee while having zoom meetings and trying to get work done, but in some ways that has all helped to lighten the days just a little.

Not sure if he was just bored as I wasn’t playing or he was keeping a watchful eye on me while sat on the blanket.

December scavenger hunt – week 3

Kate wouldn’t normally do a December scavenger hunt but with this year being an unusual year is actually doing something slightly different. Each week will have a different theme and this weeks theme is tree.

For this week I am going to post photographs of some of the Christmas trees that I have seen some I would say I like more than others.

Of course, this last one had to be included you may remember the unfinished tree from week 1.

December scavenger hunt – week 1

Kate wouldn’t normally do a December scavenger hunt but with this year being an unusual year is actually doing something slightly different. Each week will have a different theme and this weeks theme is decorations.

For this week I am going to post 2 photographs of decorations that I have made.

The first is a crochet snowflake, last year I made approximately 50 of these to go into Christmas cards for children with life limiting illnesses.

This is this year’s handmade decoration but this year it is going on our own tree when it goes up this weekend.

Scavenger Photo Hunt – November 2020

I can’t believe that we are at the end November already the months just seem to keep on flying by, maybe it’s due to everything seeming to be the same every day (get up, go to work, come home, eat, sleep and then repeat all over again). But on the brighter side that means it’s time for this month’s photographs for Kates I Live, I Love, I craft photo scavenger hunt. This one has been fun as some of the photographs are from the archives so I have been able to remember some fun times which has been great during this time of uncertainty.

The words for November are below, here is what we have found:

  • Houseplant/s
  • Rings
  • Harbour
  • Window
  • Sky
  • My own Choice

Houseplants

My photograph for house plants is a picture of the shoots from the lemon seeds that I potted during our first lockdown, some are still growing strong and have gone into bigger pots some sadly did not survive. It has been nice to see the growth from a seed to a small plant, I only wish that I had taken a picture every day to chart their growth (maybe next time I plant something that is what I will do)

Rings

The photograph I have chosen for rings is mine and Mr Hs wedding rings already in their box on our special day.

Harbour

My picture for harbour is definitely a throwback picture that brings back lots of lovely memories of mine and Mr Hs first holiday together to the Isle of Man. The picture is Douglas harbour and was taken one evening after a lovely dinner before going back to our hotel.

Window

This picture was actually taken this week through my window in work I just couldn’t resist taking it as the colour of the sky was fabulous.

Sky

Although my picture above could have also have been my sky picture I seem to have become obsessed with taking pictures of the sky recently. The colours at the moment seem to be fabulous and I have to say I am not sure if these colours are normal for the times of the year as I have never seemed to notice them being quite so vivid. Maybe in these unusual times, I am just being a little more observant.

Own Choice

My own choice picture is the view through an old railway tunnel. This was taken on a very recent walk we went on along an old railway line close to our house that has now been made into a cycle and walking path. I couldn’t resist this if not just to say that there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope that you have enjoyed my photographs this month and I can’t wait for next set of words.

Scavenger Photo Hunt – October 2020

I can’t believe that we are at the end October already and it’s time for this month’s photographs for Kates I Live, I Love, I craft photo scavenger hunt.

The words for October are below, here is what we have found:

  • Sweet treat
  • Starts with a W
  • Reading now
  • Hobby/crafting
  • Something purple
  • My own Choice

Sweet Treat

For my sweet treat photograph I have decided to use my shortbread in the shape of Herdy sheep from the Herdy company in the Lake District in England.

Starts with a W

My photograph fit starts with a W is of a web. I was quite mesmerising watching the spider making his web. I just wish I could of got the spider in it as well.

Reading now

My reading now picture is of the current book I am reading on my kindle and it is by Cathy Glass. I do like her books as they are true stories about her experiences fostering children. I think that this is such a fabulous thing to do, especially working in a school and seeing just how much some children go through. I had a little bit of time where I just couldn’t concentrate on reading no matter what it was, which is not good when you are trying to read 20 books in 2020 especially when reading isn’t your favourite thing to do.

Hobby/Crafting & Something purple

My hobby/crafting & something purple photographs I have put together as they both match both topics. I have just made Charlie dog a purple poppy to go on his collar to show his support for service animals.

Own Choice

My “own choice” picture is Charlie dog after his groom this month. It looks like we have eventually found a groomer that he likes, which is a task in itself, as he is extremely awkward. So now we don’t have a scruffy Charlie dog but it makes you realise just how small he actually is as he does now look tiny.

I hope that you have enjoyed my photographs this month and I can’t wait for next months words.

Scavenger Photo Hunt – September 2020

I can’t believe that we are at the end September already and it’s time for this month’s photographs for Kates I Live, I Love, I craft photo scavenger hunt.

The words for September are below, here is what I have found:

  • Seasonal
  • Favourite seat/place to sit
  • Comforting/cosy
  • Delight/ed/ful
  • Micro/mini/teeny tiny
  • My own Choice

Seasonal

My photograph for seasonal is from a recent shopping trip of the Halloween items in a shop. I only wish now I had got both sides of the aisle as it was Halloween on one side and Christmas on the other.

Favourite seat/place to sit

My photograph for my favourite seat is the sear that I usually sit on in the caravan. It is nothing special but is my favourite place to sit and craft.

Comforting/cosy

My photograph for comforting/cosy I have actually posted before and it is the shawl that I have just made ready to keep me cosy on these autumnal evenings.

Delight/ed/ful

My photograph for delighted comes from this week and is the delight of starting my Christmas presents. Chocolate for my great Aunt and have nearly finished the scarf fir my sister in law.

Micro/mini/teeny tiny

My photograph for this is my teeny tiny baby hats made for the local hospital for babies that are stillborn. These are to go with the other baby hats that I have been making. Even now after making them for so long, you forget just how tiny these have to be.

Own Choice

My own choice for this month has also come from this weekend as we celebrated my Nans 90th birthday.

I hope that you have enjoyed my photographs this month and I can’t wait for next months words.

Scavenger Photo Hunt – August 2020

I can’t believe that we are at the end August already and it’s time for this month’s photographs for Kates I Live, I Love, I craft, I am photo scavenger hunt.

The words for August are below, here is what we have found:

  • Moving
  • Boxes
  • Starts with … D
  • Breakfast
  • Making
  • My own Choice

Moving

I was really struggling with what photograph to choose for moving but decided on this one of Charlie running along the beach during the lockdown.

Boxes

My photograph for boxes are some empty label boxes that I am planning on covering in order to use as storage for future projects.

Starts with … D

My photograph for starts with D since I have already done one of Charlie dog has to be the favourite one of the duck at the caravan park. I love that it is so trusting of me just sitting alongside it while it eats the food that I had put down for it but also the fact that I was actually able to sit there with it as being so close to birds actually scares me as I am frightened of things that fly around me.

Breakfast

My photograph for breakfast was taken not long ago when cafes we’re starting to be allowed to open for inside diners. This is always one of our favourite eateries when we go into Southport town centre but you have to go early as it is always busy, it is called Pippins and you wouldn’t even know it was there as it is upstairs. We would normally have a sandwich there for an early lunch but as it was an early trip into town we opted fir breakfast. Mr H had the full English while I opted for a sausage sandwich.

Making

My photograph for making are some baby hats that I have been making to go to a local hospitals maternity unit These are some that have already gone and I am currently making some more.

Own Choice

My own choice photograph is this little blue tit that was just waiting on top of the bird feeder to get some seeds.

I hope that you have enjoyed my photographs for August as much as I enjoyed choosing them. I look forward for next months words.
